changing aida count changes colors/

I printed out a pattern  using 14 count. I thought using 16 count might make the picture clearer and more photo like. There are 30 more colors on the 16 count. Wouldn't the pattern, colors and symbols all be the same? I thought the size would be the only change. Anyone notice this?

This is normal behaviour.

With more stitches, the software sees more opportunities to add additional colors to make the result as realistic as possible. You can scroll down on the result page though to select a result picture which uses less colors.
